“So what now?” asked Lazlo when everyone was back on the deck. His hands were clasped between his knees again. He looked around at all the assembled faces for answers.

Lady looked around as well. No one was rushing to offer a solution. Lady didn’t exactly have one at the ready either.

“Well.” Otsuya was the first to speak. “I think maybe everyone should just sit down and talk this through.”

“That’s what we’re doing,” said Destiny when a few more moments of silence passed and no one had stated the obvious.

“No. Not like this.” Otsuya sounded annoyed that she even needed to explain herself. “I mean everyone. Dennis and those guys too. We should get everyone together and sit down and maybe have lemonade. I think tempers were high the last time you guys talked and everyone said some things they didn’t mean. If you sit down calmly and talk things through—”

“No.” Horace cut her off.

Otsuya frowned at him. “That’s the sort of bad attitude that got you into this mess.”

“That’s a stupid idea,” Horace explained, slowly. “We’re not doing that.”

“That actually isn’t a bad idea,” Dom said from his place slightly away from everyone and near the railing.

Horace looked to Lady. “I thought you said these guys were trying to actually help us.”

“You can’t keep running forever,” Dom said reasonably. “And Dennis doesn’t strike me as someone capable of murder. You said it yourself, he’s pretending to be tougher than he is. I believe that.

Lady nodded. “That might be an option, actually. We should get you guys to sit down and talk this through. You know, if everyone’s amenable.”

“No,” Horace said again, more forcefully this time. “Everyone is not admin— amen- whatever your said.”

“Amenable,” Lazlo said quietly.

“That. We’re not that.”

“We’ll put that aside as an option,” said Lady, not giving up on it just yet. There wouldn’t be any convincing the twins of that right now, though. Especially not Horace, so Lady changed the subject.
